EZ and temps??

I was just wondering how the temps are with the Edge EZ on my year trucks. Gauges are on the way but EZ will be here first. I would like to know what setting I can safely run all the time on empty. I will turn box off before towing.
So if you call could help me out on how the temps look with 2003 SO 250/460 48re i would appreciate it.
thanks
HH

I just installed an EZ and gauges this weekend.

I've got it on level 2 right now, max egt reading I've seen so far was right at 1000 degrees. I plan on going up to level 3 today. I can post #'s after.

Cruising at 65-75 egt's stayed right around 600-700.

I haven't installed the boost elbow yet, I plan on doing that today as well.

Any of you other guys that post - can you post your boost #'s with the elbow?

My brother's truck with EZ on highest setting has only got just over 1200, but he does have intake kit and exhaust system. I think boost is about 32 psi max with the elbow. His truck is 03 2500 4dr 4x4. Just for reference we stacked a Bully Dog Power Pup on Perf. and max egts climbed to 1337 & boost 39 psi. This is obviously pushing it too much, but shows you will have lots of room to push it without worry with just an EZ

Boost elbow has a restrictor to limit the boost signal to wastegate, keeping the wastegate closed till higher boost than stock is reached, then wastegate opens, which gives more air to go with the extra fuel to help keep egt's down. 35 psi on a stock truck is not normal, I think about 20 or so is

My 03 SO had a limit of about 25-26 psi until I installed the boost elbow. Now it goes up to just over 30 psi max. You can't feel a power difference but this should help keep EGTs down.

From what I've read, no, you dont want to install the elbow unless the Edge installed.
You can throw a over boost code. The Edge has a boost fooler so it will allow more psi.

I had my EZ off for almost a week but left the elbow on and I had no codes thrown. Probably because I have an SO which doesn't make as much boost as an HO.
