i am going with a Turbonetics turbo,and a stainless manifold, which wastegate holds up to the extreme temps? also what are the thoughts on mounting the wastegate on the downpipe? i know the wastegate is usually mounted on the exhaust manifold/header. the reason i ask is i had a 93 GMC Typhoon, i was running a custom turbo with a 3.5 inch downpipe and my wastegate had the ports attached to the downpipe. thanx

 

What do you mean by "mounting the wastegate on the downpipe?" It has to go pre-turbo.. The dump tube can be rerouted into the downpipe though. .02

There are two worth playing with: the Tial which will tap into your exhaust manifold... it is cheaper, reliable and been around a long time.

The other is from Engineered Diesel. It is expensive and big, and sometimes problematic to fit depending on the situation, but more effective and a really top notch unit.

 

I have seen ED's wastegate setup that mounts between the manifold and the secondary. Very good looking unit. Did its job as advertised.
