Not to hijack the thread but I am also in the market for an exhaust for my 04.5. I am not sure whether to go with 4' or 5' pipe and whether to also upgrade the exhaust manifold. I am not pushing crazy numbers out of the truck HP wise, but I would like to get an exhaust on there. I know that stainless lasts longer than aluminum, but is there any power difference? The winters up here in NJ have the possibilty of being brutal and I am going to be snowplowing with the truck next winter, so would stainless be my best bet?

Patriot2500,

If you have a 2004.5 + truck you already have 4 inch tubing, Get the MBRP performance replacement muffler and the Cat test pipe if you want. The muffler alone is very quiet, unless you have it hammered. If you add the test pipe it'll get a little louder but still very mild. They are both made from 409 stainless to match the stock material. The muffler has welded hangers that reuse the stock rubber mounts and is an easy install.
Ask around here at DRT, there have to be at least 100 members that have one as we have sold over 400 now.

I bought a 10' stick of 4" tubing. Lost my kitty, and muffler. I retained the factory tailpipe though. You'll need about 8-8.5' or pipe. Just a temporary deal until I get my 6" stack on it. It sounds pretty good, with just a little drone in the cab around 65mph. Sounds alot better, and doesn't smell funny anymore. Anybody else notice that about having the cat on?

What part of TN do you live in ? If you want to drive up to my neck of the woods, you're welcome to hear my little 305/555 with the 5" Magnaflow.

I'm getting the muffler bug as well. At this point, I seem to be leaning towards the Aeroturbine.
