Towing with a MP8 "WOW"

I took my 05 and my 12000lbs 5th wheel on a 600 mile trip this past week. I had my MP8 turned off and was getting 9.5 mpg then I turned the MP8 up to between 1/3 + 1/2 way and it went up to over 13mpg and that was running over 75mph and through several cities with many stop lights. The box also droped my EGTs from 1050 down to 850 and the boost went down from 20lbs down to 12lbs Now thats saying something.

I think anyone out there looking to buy a box for their truck should with out a doubt call Dennis Perry at TS Performance and order a MP8 box, it will be the best part you will ever buy for your truck!!!!!!!!!

I want to say that in no way am I a part of TS Performance or am gaining anything from this post. I just want everyone to know that I have found the greatest all around box for a CTD.

You can check my past posts to see that I post info to try to help other members get the best parts the first time without wasteing their hard earned money.

I think the biggest MPG gains are because the engine doesn't have to down shift to pull the hills. I know that I get better towing mileage with my box then if I am stock because the truck just stays in OD and chugs right up the hills. If the box is off it will sometimes down shift one gear and that kills the MPG...

My tranny is so tight it doesn't come out of OD up or down a hill. Its all in the box.

Did you hand calculate the mileage. It may have gone up but not necessarily that high.

masonic-dodge,

Can't say we got that much of a MPG increase from the info customer send back to us but the MP8 is as close as you can get to a guaranteed MPG increase. Stacks real well too for those that are looking for MAX HP too!

OK Dumb question here but what is the MP8? I realize its a box but what one? I have a old Bully Dog Tourque Dog(VA 3.2) and on its own it makes way to much heat for my liking. In my mind if I have to shut the box off to tow heavy it kind of defeats the purpose. I would love to sell this box and get one that is more aimed at towing. One that would keep the EGTs in spec or even drop them is awsome. How does it work? Presure/Timing/Duration? Thanks.

p.s. Other than that the truck is stock and I dont realy want to or have the money to get to wild with turbos and upgraded fuel systems so it would be nice if the box works well on its own.

All I can say is call Dennis, My box lowered my EGTs when towing at 19000lbs. It droped from 1050 to 850, thats good

bkrukow,

It's a performance box with infinite adjustability, works great for stacking etc. Dennis is the manufacturer at TS Performance. Call us if you are confused etc we'll help you.

If you are going to buy a MP8 box to stack with another box call Dennis and tell him what you are going to stack it with so he can program it for that stack(do not buy one for a stack without talking to Dennis first)

This is for the members that think that the box is giving the wrong readings, Lets just use our BRAINS if you can, if the temps go down, that means LESS FUEL and if the boost goes down that also mean LESS FUEL, Maybe I'm just looking at it the right way and you the wrong way because you spent your money on another box for more money and less inprovement(SORRY FOR YOU)

I just did another 600 mile trip and got 21.9mpg and that was through maybe 50 stop lights and running over 85mph on the open road( BET THAT )
