Which exhaust is the quietest

Which after market exhaust is the quietest (no highway drone) or annoying after 700 plus mile trips?

Believe it or not my Magnaflow 5" system was ALOT quieter than my old magnaflow 4" system. The reason for this is the POS muffler core tapers down to just under 3 7/8" ON A 5" system! I would not buy Magnaflow again just for this reason. My EGTs went up going from 4" to 5" until I strait-piped it. I went round and round w/ the Magnaflow guys and I wont even bore you w/ their lame azz excuses.

I replaced my muffler with an Aeroturbine 4040L. Just has a nice deep tone, no drone at all.

Has anyone ever tried just putting a 4" glass pack on the stock pipes?

Aeroturbine 4040L sounds real good. I was concerned about loudness and drone. I am very pleased. The 4040L has a built in resonator.

I have been considering this one from rokktech. Talked to a few guys that have them and they love them. They are quiet and guarantee no drone. One of the guys tows 15k all week long, and swears by it. They have sound bites from outside and in the cab, and it is pretty amazing how quiet it is in the cab.

I installed my Banks 4" muffler this weekend with no tail-pipe. It was way too loud. I only drove a few miles before I added the tail-pipe.

Now it's a little louder when cruising, but a lot louder at WOT. The drone is bad though. It starts at about 60MPH and gets worse from there.

I'll be going on a trip in January. If the drone is too much, I'll look into getting something else.

I had that on my 05 and loved it!!!!! I am actually going to order a 5" system for my 06 and them modify the rokktech muffler to fit it and see how it works.. I am hoping to get the lower egt's of a 5" but stay with the quietness or as close to stock as I can.. There was no drone on my 05 with the rokktech and it helped fuel miledge also... I highly recommend it.. I've installed 3 of them.

Just wondering if the Roktech with out the fur ball is louder than straight with the fur ball? I might think about going to it if is, want to get rid of all the restrictions and keep the 4". Gotta keep those exhaust temps down ya know.

Wes. I don't believe they make a 5" but I will find out monday when I order all of my new exhaust.

overcomer - anytine you ditch the furball it will be louder - less restriction - I think a turndown tip will help with the noise. I have one on my 4" stock system right now and you can't even hear it so when I do my 5" system I allready have one picked out!! I am hoping to get everything ordered monday and get it on next week!! I'll let you guys know on the noise.. I will most likely keep my fur ball this time.. On my 05 I removed it and it had some pretty good drone at 1100-1600 rpm's.... especially towing.... But still sounded good...
