Exhaust opinions

I have an 04.5. I knoq it already has a 4inch exhaust on it. I am only looking to put a Banks six gun PDA on it for more power. I thought about the MBRP duals but it seems like it may be a waste of money. I really don't think that any 4inch mandrel bent pipe is different from any other since they use stock hangers. Anyone with a 04.5 have any luck with high flow mufflers and going to a test pipe?

If the MBRP cool duals is what you want then more power to you. Although the duals versus MBRP single tail pipe exit exhaust will not get you any difference really. Aftermarket exhaust will in most cases reduce egt's. The mufllers flow better and there is less bends turbo to tail pipe.

Duals vs. singles

So the dual mfg's say the duals flow X% better, right?

Flow is good and ='s lower EGT's right?

IF the above is true, then why would someone go for a single pipe if they could have either one?

Not trying to be a smartalec, just trying to get a grip on this stuff... thanks for tolerating the diesel newbie.

35" '05, is the noise greatly increased with the exhust you have from the link you provided?

Put a high flow muffler and cat delete pipe. I have the Banks Moster muffler and like it a lot. If you do the cat delete the only real mandrel bend is the exhaust out of the muffler.

its a freakin freight train. if loud is not what ur goin for, get the muffler. i dont think u can get much more flow than a 5" single or dual. if u need more flow than that ur pushin great power. just dont buy mbrp$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$ . not many ppl dislike the way it sounds. they love it.

I straight piped it. It sounds awesome. But I'm thinking about pulling the muff elim pipe and tailpipe and just clamping a turndown right behind the kitty. I've heard there might be a soot problem underneath, but mine doesn't produce hardly any smoke at all.
