Everyone give me your opinion on this please!!
I am getting ready to put a magnaflow muffler on in place of my stock one with a 5 inch tip. Also I am looking at the superchips flashpaq. Will that be a good combo? I basically want something so the power is there when I want it. I help my dad haul hay occaisonally but that isnt really what I care about. I work in the oilfield and do ALOT of driving. Most of the driving is highway until I get to the county/lease roads that lead to the locations. I also read that this would improve the MPG a little too. I have had my truck for 3 weeks and now have 2600 miles on it. I previously drove a 2002 Chevy D-Max with the Edge under hood setup without the exhaust. The throttle response was unreal and the truck would puff quite a bit of black smoke when I got on it to pass a car or just take off quick. I want something similar to that. Is my way of thinking going to give me that? Any other advice would be great. What setting does the flashpaq have in it? I read 3 settings. So is this stock, towing and performance? What is best to leave it in? Sorry for such a long post. I am new to the performance side of diesels.

Yup what he said!
Good luck on trying to make your 3rd gen smoke!! These motors burn fuel more efficiently than the V-8 guys. You'll only get a slight puff unless you really bomb the heck out of it!

Notice even in the pictures the videos tell it all just a short burst of smoke and the truck is gone.
Not like those with out the electronic wizardry of the 3rd gen, smoking all the time.

also about the muffler..are u gonna take out the cat? imo replacing a muffler w/ another muffler is a waste of money especially if you put a big box and need more flow...then again i dont have a muffler

Not sure. I am going to a place in OKC (City Muffler) where my dad had his done. He drives a 04 F350 and it sounds great. Not too much but enough to let you know its there. With what I have read so far I am going to talk to them about the quadzilla xzillaraider and the quadzilla commander to see if they will sell me a package with all 3 together.

I'm between the quadzilla and superchips now. I guess it just depends on personal preference. Everyone seems to have their own opinions and what they want and how they drive them.
