Ever block off your wastegate line?
lol it is -35 celcius right now on my thermometer BRRRR. But i was able to cycle key and get codes. Here they are:
P0480
P0524
Obviously stored codes because I couldnt see any check engine or CEL lights on dash .What do they mean?

lol. I checked codes out. They are for low oil pressure and fan control circuit. so none related to the edge. I think the oil one is because i started truck yesterday (plugged in for 7 hours) and it was -39 celcius without wind. Windchill was -51 celcius. And it took 2 seconds or so longer for oil pressure to register she was stiff.
No on to the Edge thing. Did any of you guys like the way the fuse taps hooked up to the fuse? seemed a bit loose but i doubt its my problem. my edge attitude monitor lights up fine and works good.

I think it may be a wastegate issue... On 0 you should be stock... so everything should operate stock... Stock should see 32 psi of boost, then depending on load it will spike at 32 and drop (wastegate opeartes at 32psi stock) to 26-28 empty and 28-32 loaded... Stock EGT's as high as 1400*+ are easily obtainable, with the right loading. If your mechanically taking the wastegate out with the hose (didn't even know 04.5+ had a hose) then I would think its opening on its own...
But thats just my guess....
But thats just my guess....
so would the air line open it or close it? what i eman is the wastegate normally closed or normally open and is it spring applied or spring opened? if u get what i mean.
As for 2004.5 it has a air line going to a air actuator/cylinder because it has to heat wise. (i think dc motor would fry from heat) But i think the electronic part of it is the air solenoid that is controleld electrically i think. ill find a pic.

The WG is normally closed, but if your actuator is faulty it would open it too soon... so blocking the line keeps it from opening... (open bypasses exhaust gasses from the turbine wheel and creates less boost... but should regulate it at about 26-28 light load and 28-32 heavy load.. after the spike to 32 to get it to open)
okay i get it. i have picture above by the way. but when i have it blocked off why does it only get to 30-32 psi max and then drop off? because if its blocked wont it keep building and building? Or does the edge defuel because the edge is seeing too much boost?
x fuel will give you x boost, not infinite
There seems to be a lot of confusion on how the 600/610 wastegate system works. The solenoid allows higher boost when the ecm desires it............not lower. The solenoid uses an internal passage in the turbo housing to bypass the boost signal from going to the actuator allowing the gate to stay closed. There is still a hose to the actuator

My dillemma is that truck is going into dealer this week to get turbo and wastegate checked (via LUBRICO WARRANTY) and because its COLD out i cant remove my edge box and attitiude monitor. Now if they hookup scanner or laptop wand try to check wastegate or check for codes etc...will it hurt anything by having the edge box hooked up? Will their computer wreck the edge if they check codes or reflash?
