error code

My engine light came on today. I tried to check the code with my triple dog but it said there were do dtc's present. Any ideas what this code is? The truck seems to be fine but is acting a little different.

Did you try checking it from your dash with the key off/on 3 times? Just put your key in and turn it on and off without cranking it....3 times in a row, very quickly. It should give you the code...._ _ _ _ and more if there are any...and then "done", when it's done.

Then compare the number (s) to this chart. http://wiki.dieseltruckresource.com/wiki/Computer_codes

See if that helps.

By the way....sometimes your truck may throw a code...and it's what we call a "soft" code. It may clear itself after a few times of cranking your truck.

Thanks for the info TexasCTD. Well I tried all the tricks you mentioned and I didn't have any luck. Which is normal for me lol. I ended up taken it to a friend with a code reader, and it turned out to be 2 rail pressure sensor codes. I had him go ahead and clear the code and the truck seems to be fine. I ordered a rail pressure sensor about 2 weeks ago, but they are on backorder. Will it hurt my truck to drive it?

I'll bet P0192 was one of the codes... It's very common to trip codes running programmers or boxes. There's probably nothing wrong with your sensor. If there is, it will just pop the code again after clearing it and running it for a few.
