engine shuts off

hello, i am new to this fourm about diesel trucks. i have a problem that i hope some one can help me with. i have an 2004 dodge ram 2500 5.9L cumminis. the other day i replaced the air filter system with a k&n cold air system. everthing was going good until about and hour later while driving down the higway at 70mph the truck just without warning shut off. no warning lights no nothing just simple shut off. since then it has sut off four different times at random. can it be the new cold air system or somthing else. hope some one can help thanks scott.

Highly doubtful but if anything is related to the cold air intake it would most likely throw a code. You didn't pull any wiring loose did you? Try checking the codes to see what is happening.

Do you still have the OEM parts to put back on? If so try that first and see what happens.

Mine did it last week, first time is a year and a half. Mine is an auto so I have shifted to neutral, shut the key off then started and back into drive while still going 60 MPH, you just need to be careful since the brakes and stearing get harder. I think it is a bad wire / connection some where. I have a Quad Race and a year and a half ago I cleaned and greased all of the connections and it would still do it, one week it happened 3 or 4 time then it would be fine for months. I adjusted the wiring harness going to the box and added a few more zip ties so it was good and tight and that helped.
