Question Engine cut out intermittently on hard accell

I took off yesterday from a parking lot and pushed the truck to get up to speed. Edge was on 5. During acceleration it sounded as if the engine was being starved for fuel! I had the windows opened and with the stacks you can here the engine/exhaust cut out every 1/2 second to 1 second when at full throttle between shifts. NEVER did this before.

Any ideas so specifically what caused this???? -Thanks!!!

Do you have the in-tank lift pump or the canister mounted lift pump?

Don't know much about the fuel system. Yes it's an 04.5 '600' motor. I'm thinking in the tank as you can hear the pump run at times when starting up, etc.

What do you guys recommend for upgrades?

There are a few choices. I just installed an Air Dog 150 and couldnt be happier. It may be overkill on my truck but it's some thing I wont have to worry about in the future. Air Dog, Fass, GDP (Glacier), seem to be popular and all are better than the stocker and you can get better filtration as well.

well, thought they went to in tank some time in 05.

My fuel pump was attached to the back or the fuel filter housing. I replaced with a FASS.

I was having the same issue. I dont have it no more.

Change the fuel filter and see if that clears it up.

I don't know how it works on a standard, but with my auto, I get that a lot , and I am sure that it is defueling for tc slippage.

I can assure you that on an 04.5 (I have one) the original pump is under the hood. When mine died at 54,000 miles the dealer retrofitted the new one into the tank.

I see you have the Edge Juice also. Do you have any fueling issues before or after moving pump to tank?

I know of a 04.5 with the canister pump and an 05 (both 6-speeds) with the in-tank pump that do it. The 4.5 has an EJ and the 05 has an EZ. Another guy with an 06 had the same deal with an EZ but lost the problem when he went to a 6-Gun. It seems to go away on the 4.5 & 05 when the weather turns cooler. The guy with the 05 took the EZ off and ran stock for a month without it happening so I'd guess it's something that Edge messed up on.
