Me and my buddies have 06 mega cabs w/ juices intake , no muffler, and need to know what egt is safe and how to maybe lower them. I had an 03 and never got over 1400 when pulling anyting, the 06 seems to get to 1400 when empty? please help guys...

 

the answer will vary from source to source.
but if i can remember most of the answers is 1350 sustained(such as pulling a grade), shorts spikes over that to pass a car or such, will not hurt things.

 

towing in the 07 i was seeing 1500 preturbo stock so i cant tell you for sure if thats normal or if my gauge is right but thats what i have read on it

 

Freeing up your intakes with an aftermarket intake system will drop your temps a bit.

 

mine droped a bit with a new exhust manifold dont know why maby it breaths better a aftermarket intercooler is one way to drop about a 100 degres but dont know if the cost is worth it im still debating it

 

Mine dropped about 100 with a RamAirIII, but it is more definitive when modded (mine is stock).

 

i was surprised that mine with the 100hp predator doesnt go over 1200. I have muffler delete and s&b filter setup.
