It used to be free to upgrade if you were a TDR member but they quit doing that shortly after they got my money. I can tell you that I have been running the juice with the smarty for months now and I only use it for gauges. The other thing I like about having both is that you can turn the smarty to stock when you tow and crank up the edge so you dont get all the smoke.
