Being relatively new to the site, I definately appreciate the wealth of info that is being shared. I finally got around to reading some other forums on the new Duramax and Powerstroke diesels. It simply amazes me the amount of problems that these trucks are having...and most of them are with less than 75,000 mls! I read about us having some of the same issues, but not until over 200,000 mls. One thing I don't understand is that it seems that our trucks are pretty much indestructable...so why did they mess with the formula?? The one item that did keep coming up though was that everyone agreed that the Cummins was the best engine out there!! Sorry for the rant...new guy trying to fit in

 

In order to make more power with less emissions they had to go digital, add computers, utilize fancy engineering, et cetera; a bunch of stuff that has issues and breaks. (Computers in particular.)

I got my truck because it is as simple as simple can be. I like it that way.
(Although it does have an ABS computer, but that's probably saved my life before, so I'd keep that if you gave me the choice.)
