So I have the edge w/ attitude. Truck runs well and I'm getting ready to add a Glacier pump and upgrade the tranny. I've heard smarty performs way better, and am contemplating the switch to smarty/guages. I do like that the edge has those (guages) built in. So here's my question...

The most I'm gonna get for an edge/attitude setup is about $500 and obviously I paid way more then that for it new. Nice guages are gonna run a pretty penny. I also know that the edge and smarty do not compliment eachother well, so here's my thought. Would the smarty be effective if I turned my edge to stock and used it for guages only, and then ran the smarty? It really wouldn't be a "stack" because the edge would be on stock. Would this work? I'd really appreciate everyone's opinions. Thanks!

Or should I just run edge and send it in for the HOT upgrade?

I have the juice/att, and about a month ago i was in michigan, doing a transmission upgrade, while i was there a friend of mine let me test out his smarty, i cant remember what program he had but his truck has a set of twins 100 hp injectors and a list of upgrades. i just put it on eight. and ran it with the juice/att. there was alot of power/smoke, i only ran it for a few miles but had no problems, however egt would get hot pretty quick. you could run both.

 

Upgrade you Juice to HOT with the lift pump and tranny upgrades. 180hp and 440 ft lbs of torque

 

Does the Edge advance the timing to a ridiculous level with the Hot upgrade though?

 

I am not sure what the hot dose judging from all of the smoke i think it is fuel, when i used the smarty my juice had not been upgraded to the hot version yet.

 

The Juice and Smarty did not play well together on my '05. No power increases no matter what setting. Others have reported the same thing on 04.5-05. Not sure about other years.

 

well on the 03 the power increase was not alot, but but there was a little bump in power, however the juice/att could run at the same time and the guages could be used. just run the smarty without timing.

 

Nope. The hot juice is a very good box!

thats because on 03-04's the Juice/Attitude adds pressure

 

So you're saying even w/ the edge on stock, the smarty didn't do anything?

Smarty works...EDGE doesn't add anything with the Smarty, its like running the Smarty by itself.

 

Gotcha. Alright... Well I guess I'm going to have to contemplate what to do here. When upgrading to hot, does the edge produce a ridiculous amount of smoke, or is it kinda non-smokey like the regular edge?
