anybody running the edge w/ additude and turbo timer had a problem with the truck not shutting off? it seems like the turbo timer is keeping the truck running and the only way to shut it off is to unplug the edge box.

 

I am not having this problem, but I have heard of others having this problem. Do you have the temp set at 400 or 300? 300 degrees on the edge wont happen unless its below freezing outside and the truck runs for 3-5 mins.

 

it was set at 400. even if i hit the brake it will stay running. first problem i ever had with this.

 

what did the good people at Edge Products recommend? I'm so leery of the truck just never shutting down that Ive never used a turbo timer.

 

Yes. This exact problem.

If you are running an aftermarket fuel pump, there is too much current being drawn across one of the resistors in the edge box, and it cooks it. It will either not work at all (truck shuts off when you shut off the key) or will not shut down at all.

Call edge, tell them that, they'll have you send them the box and they will upgrade the resistor. I don't think they charged me anything, but it's been a while.

Edge has typically had a very good customer support group and as has been posted already you can see that they have taken care of issues just like yours in the past.

Just a couple of questions.

Do you have an after market pump that could be causing the issue that Madhat found?

Did you make any changes to your BDTD recently?

Have you tried it with the fixed timer instead of the EGT control?

True, just curious about other possible ways to test the system and also see what other things may influence the problem.

 

no aftermarket pump, the bd been on there for like a year now. i talked to edge and they know about the broblem and want me to send them the box, dont know what the charge will be if any. also if the truck is off w/ the key out and i plug in the edge the lights go on in the truck like its running.

 

Yeah, send it in. Edge is pretty good about that stuff.
