Edge juice w/ attitude problem
Edge juice w/ attitude problem
Coming home from a 400 mile trip pulling my fifth wheel {12,000#} I had a wierd thing happen to my Edge. I was going around 70 mph just passed a motorcyle and I looked over at the attitude to see how things were going and it was froze. No boost, it was reading 0, No load, it was reading 0, EGT was stuck on the last reading 537, engine coolant was 192* and stuck there all the readings were stuck. Power went down to stock {made me appreciate the edge when it was functioning properly what a difference.} We were only 75 miles from home so I took us on home without stopping just went home in the stock mode. Got home let the truck run as I unhooked the fiver let her cool down. I shut the truck off and went in to help the wife unload. Went back to the truck to move it over to its spot in the pole barn and the Edge was back up . Took her for a spin and all the horse power was back everything was monitioring as it should. Has anyone ever had that experience before. It is almost as though it had to reboot for some reason. I have got a call into Edge but I will have to wait until tomorrow for a reply they are closed for the day. Thanks for any input...Ray
My Insight will do something similar. It will flash and show N/A's in the Chysler
specified PID's. Tranny and Boost. It will come back on and work normally. This all takes about 5 seconds. But it does it more than once if your driving all day.
I removed the Attitude and Juice from the truck last year. Never did what yours did. So, I'm not much help to you. Post what Edge Says. Everytime I call them about something, they don't know anything.

Everything frooze up on the monitor {attitude} and the power loss went when it frooze up too. But as I said before after I shut the truck off and turned it back on all functions came back and power was back just as before sure is puzziling. I will get some feed back ASAP from the Edge people.
Just got off the phone with "Edge". I have dealt with them before and was impressed with their professionalism and knowledge. I know some may beg to differ. But the guy I got was great. The first dealings was with my turbo timer. {I have been communicating with the same person on both issues} they sent me out a new wire harness no charge yet which I replaced but worked one time then went back to not working. So then this new issue of freeze up came up. I am sending back the Module and Monitor so they can update and inspect it. They said it was a flat fee of $99.00 to fix any thing they find out plus update. I will not "Hot Juice" it no need too. So after this Memorail Day I will send it in. If I need to drive the truck I have to plug the stock injector wires back on and the map sensor back to stock also. I have an early version {1.1} Build date 5/31/2006 Model: 3000B. Of course it is out of warranty which only lasts 1 year anyway. But I will be happy to get it working properly as we are headed to the east coast Virginia Beach to visit grandkids and see the Viet Nam Memorial wall and I do not want a problem with the programmer while on the road as anyone wouldn't.

I had the same problem with mine.I had shut the truck off, then realized i had to go out again,it was still running on the turbo timer, guages all froze when i turned the ignition to the On position, shut it off by touching the brake, fired it up, all was back to normal.
Just sent in the Module and Monitor to Edge. It will be there Friday June 4th. I asked them to send me a briefing along with the updated and reworked Module. Also ordered a mount {$45} that fits my truck I don't like the velcro on the dash stuff to hold it in place. I will repost the malfunctions of the Edge J/A when I get it back.
The way I understood the Edge tech support it was $99.00 flat fee to fix anything unless the module is so far gone that it needs replacement. He said replacements have been far and few between. So I take it that most all are repairable. I will post the outcome when it is back and installed in my truck plus any cost associated with the module and monitor repair.
When I had mine, I got new egt probes twice, they replaced the whole unit once and I got the Hot unlock and the only thing I ever had to pay anything for was the Hot unlock and shipping.
Got my Edge J/A back today. I checked my bank account yesterday morning to see if Edge had taken out the $99 for their service on the Edge. It was taken out and $45 more for a pod that I ordered the same time I sent in the edge to be fixed. That same evening UPS showed up with the package from Edge, they fast shipped it to my suprise, yahoo!. I opened up the package and they had updated the module {was a 1.1 now I think it is a 6.0} and sent me a new attitude monitor. My old monitor evidenitly had some issues. I remember when I would push in on a button all the buttons would go in. The new one is firm. But I can't plug the wire from the monitor into the Edge wiring harness to test it out cause I pulled the green connector off the wiring harness and it got sent back with the orignal monitor. Stupid me I forced them apart instead of lifting the tab which the installation manual said to do. I will call them this morning to see if they can send me a replacement "green connector". So bottom line is I haven't got to try out the new updates and see if my Turbo Timer and freeze up problems are gone. My fault no one elses.
