There is something wrong with your truck period. Adding another programmer is not gonna help. If anything I would look into buying another turbo. Have you had that truck since brand new? Maybe somebody has a small set of injectors in there probably not though. I agree you should be able to see more boost then that. Edge on level 5 I could see 40's on stock turbo. You have a boost leak or something wastegate problem. This is like your 5th thread about the same problem. I wouldn't keep running it up that high to often. 1500 every now and then is ok, but everyday isn't good.

WOW. i put vise grips on hose between wastegate and electronic diaphragm. (basically keep wastegate shut) and WOW. i can hit 30-32 PSI boost now on level 1 with EDGE. hit about 30 psi with stock level 0. before i could barely hit 23 and WOW. More pep and egts take a while to hit 1200 ish. they will but i have to work her. Sounds like my turbo or wastegate are going. Is it bad to leave visegrip on her all the time?

1 thing i do notice is it takes longer for turbo to spool down now it seems and it just doesnt quite wanna go past 30. If i floor it off start itll shoot up to 30-32 FAST and then gradually drops as I speed up regardless if my foot is to floor or not. is that a sign my turbo is crapping out that it cant keep up. ?Shouldnt it hit 30 and then climb to 40 ish?

If everything is working right you should be able to hit 36-38 psi pretty easy. The waste gates on these newer turbo's seems to be pretty flaky though, mine will open up sometimes at 23psi, other times it works correctly and goes to 36 where I have it set.

ok so with your edge attitude you have hit 35? do u have a boost fooler? Have u ever blocked or vise gripped your air line to your wastegate.

I have hit 40 before, but the regular boost at WOT is usually around 36 on my truck, but sometimes if flakes out and opens the wastegate and stays open until I let off the throttle. You can watch it go to 30+psi, the drop off when the wastegate opens. I'm only using the edge no other adds to do that with.

with my line vise gripped the wastegate shouldnt open should it? Or what am i exactly accomplishing by the vise grip on air line method? because turbo does build more boost with it on?

I havent really paid attention on this turbo but most wastegates have a spring that holds them closed, so with enough pressure it's going to open anyway, what that pressure is depends on spring pressure, thats why some vendors sell bigger wastegate heads to add on to factory turbos.

I can see 40psi + easy on level 1 or 2 with my Juice so I agree you have a turbo or wastegate issue. The fact that it builds more boost with the line clamped tells me the wastegate is opening too soon or not working properly but I would expect it to be higher than that. 30-32psi is still low. I would expect at least 35-38psi. Sounds like a turbo going south or maybe a boost leak? Have you noticed any strange air noises while under boost? I would check the simple stuff first like a loose clamp or intercooler boot before jumping on a new turbo.

true and thanks bighornram. The thing is im not going to buy another turbo. the whole point to all these posts and stuff is because dealership is going to look at my wastegate/turbo problem this week. my truck is OFF warranty because it has 200,000km on it. BUT i have LUBRICO warranty (look them up). Turbo is covered under it REGARDLESS of km. if dealership finds something wrong they contact me and lubrico. if lubrico says go ahead fix, i pay in advance and lubrico reimburses me. get it?
If they do nothing or find nothing i will drive with vise grip on until turbo blows. when it blows ill buy an aftermarket 62mm aurora or something. get it?
