Just got a shift enhancer today and when I went out to install it, it is not clear which electrical connector the orange wire is in that you are supposed to splice into. the instructions that came with it do not explain where its at very well. I am assuming its somewhere very close to the shift cable, right?

It says the orange wire is in the connector with 5 wires, but the connectors I saw had about 8 wires, and the other had 6 wires.

does anyone have a pic they could post up that would better explain it?

there is a small motor on the tranny and the wires going to it are the right ones,it is directly above the shift lever on the tranny

 

yep! Right above the shift linkage is a servo motor that has a connector on it. Some times the wire is ran between the trans case and the motor. Unplug it and remove some of the loom and you will see the orange wire.

 

thanks guys, I got it. there were 6 wires in that plug even though the directions say there should be 5...but its working now. kind of a pain to get your hands up there and splice into it since there isn't much slack, but after a few @#$@# words I was able to get it done hahah
