Downsides to SMARTY smoke????

Other than drivers around me and the absolute that I get from it. What are the downsides to this amount of smoke? I have heard of cylinder washdown but what is that and how is it detramental to the motor?

So the aftermarket injector program will help with smoke on the 07?

I've just about got my Glacier system on and will be trying out the Smarty probably Saturday (if my fittings dont leak). I like a little smoke but I dont want to block out the sun. Not that I really mind, but that might attract the wrong kinda attention to my truck.

Too bad Ive got a training class all next week at GE in Salem VA or I would be trying the Smarty out!!

Isn't cylinder washdown when you idle to long/much and the fuel isn't getting hot enough to burn completly?

I'll get back on topic here. I just sold my BDTD and im in the neighbor hood for a new programmer. I know for the 03 trucks we didn't get none of the good software like Crazy Larry, does the Smarty offer crazy tunes for our early 3rd gens?

Let me just say as an owner of one of those early trucks that Smarty will put the on your face. The regular smarty programming may be close to what you experienced with the BDTD at its best, but the BETA programs are just wow.

Hope that answers your question.

Downsides to smoke? Hmm, let's perform a thought experiment, since I would never do anything like this.

Say an idiot on a bicycle cut across a busy six lane street at 8 PM. They then do not ride on the sidewalk or even on the curbside of the lane. Let's say they are 1/3 the way into the right lane and peddling fast; although, they are still only going half as fast as traffic. A perfect candidate for smoke.

Let's say the cloud of smoke envelopes them perfectly. Only now is it apparent that following traffic might not be able to see the bicycling fool for the cloud of smoke. Ah, but fortunately in this thought experiment the following vehicles swerve to avoid the smoke.

That's one possible theoretical downside to smoke. Smoke conceals things other drivers might not want to drive into (like the smoke itself).

I drive mine around on 9. but I have a bigger turbo. I dont really get on the throttle hard until someone gets to close or im out by myself. mine puts a little smoke on the bumper on on the bed if I dont wash it for a while. but im not complaining either. if I drive it stock for very long I want to sell the trk

I have an amsoil bypass filter on my truck. I ran 7500 miles on my last oil change, about 3000 of that was pulling my 11k TT. I sampled the oil and it came back with extremely high soot levels. I was a bit disappointed. My TT was also black with soot and a pain to clean. The beta 4.4 was MUCH cleaner but the hp levels are too high to tow with so for now I'm back to stock.

I run on #3 and don't see any additional smoke than stock until you put your foot in it. Seems to keep those in MBZ from tailigating when you get on it.
