Downfalls to nos?

I kinda want my truck to spool faster when I need it is there any downfalls to running nos besides for the price? I was thinking of adding it after my clutch and airdog 150. What boost level can you hit a single stage at and how much can you put to a basically stock setup with no studs without harming stuff? My crazy larry tune is insane on the smoke and I was hoping nos may clear it up a bit. TIA

Give her a snort in the compressor discharge pipe before the intercooler. I doubt you will cause any harm... I have run 20+Lbs. through my truck so far with stock bolts/gaskets at 55PSI boost.

Just be prepared, it does not take too long to blow though a 10 Lb. bottle with a decent size jet and its as addictive as crack.

Does it bother anyone else when people call nitrous "nos?" Not to be a jerk but it sounds terrible and it makes me think they just got done watching "fast and the furious" Its nitrous, N.O.S. or n2o.. hope i didnt offend anyone.. but just in case.. flame suit on..

not necessarily... some run NOS systems and some run NX systems.... it's all the same cheap, easy way to make power.

My opinion on it.... can you say Ka Boom ! I imagine people love it but, it will take it's toll on your truck

If you really want it to spool-up faster then get rid of the Crazy Larry and buy a Smarty. Cheaper than a NOS kit and doesn't cost money every time you use it.

I disagree I have tested the CL vs Smarty on a couple trucks and the CL spools faster the HP results vary from set up to set up but the CL always spooled faster. *( this was the 2.4.D v)*

Sorry if my laziness offended you but I figured most people would know what
I was talking about. You must work for nx? For the record I hate that movie.

I've also tested both of them on my truck at the track and Crazy Larry was significantly slower off the line. In the report I posted on here I even said it felt like Crazy Larry was way faster on the street, but that wasn't the case at the track.

Testing has shown n2o to be more beneficial injecting pre-cac as opposed to intake.

I have tried both as well. I thought it would spool the turbo quicker if sprayed in the intake but it doesnt.

I think the difference is due to the extra length it has to travel before being ingested into the engine. More length gives the N2O more time to mix evenly with the incoming air.

If you want to run nitrous you need as much fuel as you can get and none does this better than the Smarty Revo.

The Smarty also allows timing adjustment which can ease peak cylinder pressures in a nitrous application. This helps save head gaskets and (in high performance applications) connecting rods.

I was thinking for ease on the motor running it from about 10 psi of boost and shutting it off at 25 psi just to make it spool. The only reason I want it is my buddy has a 04.5 with a stack and its whoever gets out of the hole better so I just want a fairly cheap advantage.
