down loader problems.

My buddy has a 06 Dodge ctd. When it was newer he had the 2 flashes done. I thinke they were #18-041-05, #18-003-06. Then at a later time had the bullydog tripple dod installed. He sold the bdtd and went back to stock. His truck was not running as good this time stock as it was stock the first time so he had his local Dodge dealer put the scan tool on his truck to make sure every thing was in order. What they found out was the 2 reflashes he had done were no longer on his truck. It sounds like to me that when the bullydog down loader put's the truck back to stock. It uses bullydog's stock setting and not the stock setting the truck had before the bd was installed. Needless to say, He had the reflashes done again and his truck runs much better this time around. Didn't meen to ramble, but beware I think if you were to call bd they would tell you something diff.

There isn't a way to read stock from these engines, so you have to have the stock files on the downloader already. If he had the newest upgrade off the net from BD it would automatically put the newest TSB's on his vehicle. If his unit was old it would put the originaly flash from Chrysler on it. If he had it upgraded it would upgrade his flash too, I think.

It will be interesting to see what people have experianced with this issue. I don't know why his never put the reflashes back in. But they were not there when they checked.

So the stock setting is just a standard program?? I was alwyas under the impression that the stock setting was directly from your truck. Does that mean that you can use the downloader on more then 1 truck? I am thinking about getting rid of the wifes rig. It would be nice if we could get her another 05 and just buy 1 downloader for both rigs. Is this possible??

It will only load on one truck(VIN) at a time. You can remove it completely from one truck and then load it on the other. But until it is removed, set completely back to stock it will not load on another truck.
