Does your CTD burn some oil?

My truck see sig, burns about 2 quarts of oil (rotela dino oil) after 6000 miles on my oil, is this normal? I tow 85% of my miles 1/2 of that loaded heavy and 1/2 4500lb empty trailer. I usually change when I think to check it and its a little low 6-7K

My truck never burnt a single drop until I blew the head gasket and had it rebuilt. Now it burns about 2 L every 4500 miles.

All engines use oil, if it's a 4 cycle it will use oil. The question is what is "normal". I think you might be using too much oil!!!

Never added any between changes and I change ever 7-8,000. It does leak a lil around the valve cover gasket but I still have never been below full, and I use 12 qrts to fill it up. 46,xxx miles on the truck.

I'm at 27K, not using any oil, change oil intervals at 7K using Valvoline Premium Blue 15w40. Are you checking your oil right at shutdown? It does take some time for the oil to drain down to the pan when hot. It can be a good quart low on the dipstick when you check it right at shutdown. I usually check mine at least an hour after shutdown, usually in the am before running my truck.

mine with 17,000 used 2 quarts in between the last change and now. I just changed it and am going to keep my eye on how much it uses. I comute 80 miles round trip and tow heavy 40% of the time over 25,000 GCVW.
