i consider my self a diesel noob to, although my first truck was a diesel 13 years ago, and my dad has a cummins, but to answer your question intake and muffler would be a good place to start. I got a scotty 5 (not installed yet) and am waiting for a MBRP replacement muffler. If you search the forums you will find out this is the first thing recommended to start with. as far as boxes etc. im thinking I will go smarty in the future, i have heard good things about that unit.

If you just want better pulling and mileage I would get a set of gauges, moderate performance module, intake and a performance muffler kit.

As long as you take care of the truck it should last a long time and give you plenty of power.

Now you did not say how much power and how much you are willing to spend?

I am sure some other vendors will chime in as well. You can also browse the DTR store for most of the popular modifications to get an idea of what is out there.

So from our line of products here are some things to look at.

1.) If you are on a budget look at this combo:
http://www.quadzillapower.com/prod_recon.html
http://www.quadzillapower.com/xzill_xzt.html
http://www.quadzillapower.com/prod_intakes.html

That combo will cost less together than some modules alone. It should net you somewhere in the 350hp to the tires and around 700 ft lbs of torque.

2.) If you want more options you can look at this combo with the same intake as above:

http://www.quadzillapower.com/xzill_03-06.html
http://www.quadzillapower.com/prod_commander.html

This will cost a little more and there is much more to it but with the Race module you can make in the 415-420 hp range and over 800 ft lbs of torque at the tires.

You could also mix and match the Commander and Recon XZT however you see fit. The First and second choices of module and gauges come with a package price. The XZT also has a package price when combined with the Commander.

We do not sell retail direct but we have many vendors that support this site and all of our products are also available through the DTR store.

If you have any questions let us know. It is always good to see new faces! Also the search feature on this site will help answer a lot of questions.

Quad, are your intake kits full systems, ie: intake tube and filter or just the filter assembly, on the site it doesn't specify and no picture of the tube if it is included??

one more question, do you have to get a control module at the same time as the box, or can you get one now then add as funding allows? also, should a person do this to a brand new truck or wait to break it in a bit, currently have only 12 km on it lol. will the dtr store ship to canada or do you know of any canadian dealers? thanks

Sorry i did some more research looks like just the filter assembly. Any chance you have a "torque tube" in the works?

With our products you do not have to buy the gauges or control module at the same time. You can add them any time you want. If you go over 65hp OR if you are towing a lot of big loads then I would recommend gauges first and then a power module.

I always tell people to mod their truck when they feel that they are ready. There is no magic mileage number. You need to do what you feel comfortable with. If that is right now then great, if you think it needs a few thousand miles then I would wait. That is something you need to decide on your own and do not let anyone sway you.

I am sure the DTR stores ship to Canada and we also have many dealers up there. I am sure other vendors are more than happy to ship to Canada as well.

Yellowz28,

Our intakes do not have a tube with them. We have played with it and tested it and the only difference we can successfully measure each time is an increase in noise. If you just want noise then remove the silencer ring and put a piece of pipe in place of the baffle and you will save a lot of money.

Now we do haev several dealers asking for a "tube" so at some point we may add that to the list?
