debadging question

I am taking the emblems off my truck.. Whats the easiest way to get that double sided glue off my truck once the emblems are off.. Been rolling it off with my thumb and using goo gone to get ride of the glue outline.. But its taking forever to rub off with my thumb. Any tricks?

I borrowed a "3m eraser wheel" from a friend. It is a drill bit that is made just like a wheel shaped pencil eraser. You run it on it's side at a low speed and it takes it off in seconds. works great but I can't find my own. good luck.

You can find them at carquest or napa. I used a wax remover paint prep after to remove any left over adhesive.

I just spent 4.5 hours on mine yesterday, but mainly because I am a perfectionest. I just stripped the badges with fishing line then used goof off and a razor to finish it off. I learned a lesson though next time I will use the eraser wheel!

I used fishing line to cut the emblems off and goo gone and a hair dryer for the rest. It worked good but my thumbs were rubbed raw.

I used a screwdriver and a spraycan thats says Sticker Remover from advance auto. Trick is to let the stuff soak in and keep spraying. Then it comes right off with ease. I have only gotten the ram 2500 off so far cause of lazyness!!!

WD-40 and Adhesive remover. the 3m wheel works great too. Whatever you do, make sure you don't get the Eraser wheel with the pancake flaps on it. Its basically got 6 or 7 thin wheels put together, and you have to have a pretty quick device to spin it properly, like 8000 plus rpms.

you dont even have to spin it. I dont have a cordless drill, so I just borrowed the bit and rubbed it on the paint with my hands.

I vote for a spray can of adhesive remover, worked great for me and no worries about damaging the paint.
