Custom Gauge Mount

Ok, guys. I ordered my gauges (four of them) but I found that no one sells a four gauge mount for the Dodge. So, I made my own. Keep in mind that this box is version 3. Pictures can be found in the link;

This is the first time I have ever worked with fiber glass. Version one, just didn't work and the gauges where not angled toward me. I made version two only to realize the with the angle on the box, the last gauge hit the side wall and would not go in. So, version 3 fixed that. The box is some what larger than I need, but it made it easy to stuff the cables in the back. The box is modeled to the shape and curves of the dash for a prefect fix. What do you think? Anthony

I think you've got some potential... for sure. How the heck did you do that?

I put plastic over the dash and the laid a piece of fiberglass over the dash. I let that harden and then I created a card board box in which I then put fiberglass over. I used fiber glass bondo to smooth out all the sides and corners. I then drilled the holes for the gauges. After I got done, I found that the base was off a little bit, so I put plastic on the dash again, and then put bondo on the bottom of the box. I set the box on the dash and let dry. I gave me the perfect fit. I painted the inside black to stop any light from coming through the fiberglass. (Learned that mistake from the first box) Anthony

That's pretty good. Really good, as a matter of fact. I have done a little fg work in my day, and I was thinking of the same thing for my DIY guage holder. I did the metal work already, I'm just saving up for the other 2 guages...
