Question Correct order of mods....

I am looking to do some work to my truck in the very near future and I am wondering in what order to have the work done. I know I need the minimum trans upgrades (TC,VB,FLEX), fuel system (AIR DOG,FASS), and probably turbo.

I am looking to get between 500-550hp for a daily driver and killer at the track when I seldom do go....I don't want to buy a CP3 I would like to keep my stocker and maybe upgrade to 90hp DDP's of Flux 2's. What kind of turbo will compliment this power and still be able to pull my Wakeboard boat in the summer?

Just trying to organize a plan to submit to the "COMMITEE" for approval!!!!

Thanks Guys,
Les

500-550HP with seldom track use...My money would be on a Silver Bullet 62 or Phat Shaft 62 (or like similar turbo) for you. Good spool up and a noticable improvment over stock with the ability to support your projected horsepower goals.

Well, first, you don't need injectors to get to 500hp, which is good if you don't want to do the cp3 because a stock cp3 is not going to keep up with the size of injectors you are talking about. Any of the 62mm turbos should be fine along with the tranny and lift pump you mentioned. Then you just have to decide on what you want to run for electronics. Smarty, Juice, Diablo, Bully Dog, etc.

From idle to when it lights is a little slower than the stocker was, but not bad or anything that I hate. To be honest, the only time I really notice it is when I have my camper in tow and leaving a stop light. From 5psi-45psi is almost instant. It comes on like crazy. I loved it until I did the injectors. It's just not the right turbo for my current set up. I will be doing twins in the near future.

With my current set-up (see Sig), I dynoed 425hp 828tq with SMARTY on lvl7 and my Quad X2 on 60 hp stacker tune. I have yet to dyno with the Power Puck. So it sounds like everything I had said before minus the injectors....I only suggested the injectors to aleviate any problems with the stockers cracking under pressure!! The Power Puck does a nice job of producing good pressure but I worry about cracking the stock injectors....

Yeah everybody told me a 64/71/14 was the way to go that way you could use it for a top turbo if you decide to get twins later. I didnt listen cuz I found a good deal on the a5k but Im gonna take this single as far as i can. Im pretty happy with it. You just need lots of fuel and a smarty to keep the lag down.

Gonna need a CP3 eventually with the Flux 2's. I can only get 18,000 pounds of rail pressure.

I would say a 62 or 64mm turbo would be good for your setup.
