How does coolant normally get into the oil system?

 

Blown head gasket.

Don't drive until repaired, results can be catastrophic to include ruined rod/main bearings, turbo, cylinder walls and etc.

I just lost a motor due to coolant in my oil....like Terry said. DONT DRIVE IT

 

It may be too late depending on how much coolant got into the oil and for how long. It will take out the bearings quick. Hope not for your sake. If it has done it for a while, I would pull the pan and check some rod bearings/mains and see how they look before I drove it afterwards. This is one of the main reasons rods fly out the side of the block.
