Question Control Arms

Where can I get a set of longer control arms. I can't seem to find anywhere other than KORE that sells them w/o buying the full lift kit. KORE makes a great set, but I'd like some other choices.
I put on a 3" lift. I'd to center the wheels in the wheelwell again (they are about .5" further to the rear). Plus I think the longer control arms would help with the alignment. Thanks for any help offered!!

Thanks for the sites. I actually just got done doing a search and found those sites on some old threads. I think I'll probably order the DT arms.

As for pics, I'm waiting for approval to have them put into my gallery. If you know how to post them, let me know and I will put them in this thread.

I put TopGun's 3" spacer in the front and 2" Tuff Country blocks in the rear. You only need 1" blocks/add-a-leaves to level the truck out; my rear is still a little higher.

I have no rubbing issues at all. However it is close in the rear of the front fenderwells. Hence, my wanting slightly longer arms to offset this. I'll be ordering a Trac-Bar from ThurenFabrications on monday.

Overall, I'm very happy with it. The tires are perfect for the G-56 in my opinion. Not a lot of power loss (that I noticed) and I easily cruised @ 75 mph on the highway today.

Eventually, I will upgrade to a progressive spring in the front, probably CarliSuspension's rear pak, and definately shock mounts/King Shocks from Thuren. However, there's only so much the old lady will let me do at one time, and at least now my truck looks awesome.

Ask Thuren about new control arms. Hes REAL good at making custom stuff, and might even be less than DT. Never know till you ask. I'm actually planning on running the same lift as you, but with some 35s. I cant wait till they approve your pics, I want to see how it looks. When I do mine, I'm going to contact Don (Thuren) and ask about some new control arms.

Any problems when putting on your lift? How did you do the front spacers, and what shocks are you running?

Already sent Don an email today. I wonder if anybody has had him make some arms before? I'm post his answer when he gets back to me. (Probably Monday)
I am using the stock shocks right now b/c Mother Army is sending me away for most the summer, and I'd rather just put the money into the best one's when I get back. The stock shocks will work fine for driving to work and back.
The install wasn't too bad at all. The only thing I'd recommend is having two floor jacks, one for each side of the axle. And if you don't want to remove the control arms, you'll want a spring compressor. I actually borrowed a Strut Compressor from the autoparts store because you can put it on the outside of the spring. I thought it would be easier than the traditional spring compressor. Front and rear took me about 5 hrs total, which included a run to Lowe's for a bigger metric sockets. You'll need up to a 21 mm socket.

The lower Track bar bolt, and the bottom shock bolts I believe. I had only up to 19mm, so I had to go buy some new sockets to add to the tool box. You'll need a 15, 17, 18 and 21 mm socket.

Pretty much the same set up I'm running on my 2nd gen.....it works awesome.
I'm running DT's radius arms. Their OEM replacements are nice, I was going with those until David talked me into test bedding his radius arms. Pair them up with a 400lb. coil and you'll have a sweet set up, Don can dial the shock valving in perfect.

Wow, I guess my plan is almost the exact same as you already have. Guess that means that I'm not crazy after all the research I've done.... or maybe we both are......hmmmm. Of course, I'm probably about 9 months out from having all the pieces together. Shocks at the end of the summer, and then front and rear springs in the fall/christmas time. Stupid money tree has blossomed yet!!

Has anyone put on Carli's Duel Stabilizer set-up? It looks awesome, but I haven't heard much about it. Maybe I should start a new thread about it??

Cowhand -
I can't find the Radius Arms on DT's webpage. Are they for sale yet, or are they still in the develpment phase? How are they different, or rather, why are they better? Thanks Cowhand!

Cheers, Dave

The radius arms are on the front page, you'll have to call David and see if he has them available for the 3rd gen. They're different because they eliminate the 4 control arms, I feel like the front end is more stable. Caster arc is more stable/predictable too, not to mention there's just more beef in it than typical control arms. Another advantage is I only have 2 pivot points to worry about instead of 8.

Since I went to the RA front end, I haven't had any problems with death wobble and my front tires wear better than the rears.

As far as Sage's dual steering stabilizer, if the front end is set up properly, you shouldn't need a steering stab. I run 37's and I don't have one. Having said that, the purpose of a steering stabilizer isn't to fix shimmy or vibration, it's simply to keep the steering wheel from snapping your thumbs off if you hit a big bump with one wheel. I'll run one eventually just for that purpose but I'll probably rig it up so I can un-pin it on the street and pin it when I run off road.
