Question Confusion: '04.5 vs. '05 and Bully Dog

I need some help understanding something and I know I came to the right place for some answers.

I have a 2005 3500 Dually that I picked up in Aug '05. I have some questions about the Triple dog and the power pup

I was going to order a power pup today and I had to choose between a 2004.5 (only) or a 2005 (only). I had no doubts in my mind as to which one I needed (I knew I needed the 2005) but to play it safe I decided to look under the hood to see when the engine was manufactured. The date that is on the ID plate is 12-4-4. WELL GREAT!! It's official sports fans, I am confused. Can anyone help me on this one?

Second question: I would consider the Triple dog because of the "Defueling" feature. Does this feature work if you don't have the monitor? (I already have manual guages installed). Does this featrue function independent of any guages?

I would appreciate any help.

thanks

Power boxes are assigned according to model year of truck. NOT manufacture dates of engine or truck.

the power pup is a waste of money, with the features of the Triple Dog.

i tried to GIVE AWAY my Power Pup to my local dealer for him to resell, he would not take it for free.

i sold it for $140 on ebay.

No, I am positive none of the safety parameters of the Outlook work with the Power Pup.

you want a Triple Dog if you use Bullydog stuff.

and make sure you buy from a reputable shop, they can make more things happen with BD if you have any hiccups.

no problem selling my old power pup.

Also, the 2004.5 and 2005 power pups are the same. I sold my 2004.5 power pup to a 2005 owner

No, without the Outlook you cannot set a defuel temp for the pyrometer.
I bought the Triple Dog Combo(Triple Dog + Outlook Monitor) Model number 42500 for $720 + tax about a year ago.
Cheers
Mike

go with the triple dog. the power pup cant get crazy larry - if you ever want to go that high in hp... and it works on ford and chevy which could be a good selling point, or a fun thing if you have friends with fords and chevys that want to try it out. tell them CL isnt that bad and to hammer down!!! hahahaha

Just curious as to why you are looking at the Bully vs Edge (Juice/Att).

I -tried before I Buy'd - I didn't have any problems with it for the short time that I drove it.

I have read posts where people are having a difficult time with the progamers that they have used. I have seen a post for just about every downloader out there -even for the bully- but I know that one works on my truck.

I do a lot of camping and pulling my 5th wheel. I was leaning hard on the Quadzilla however, if something would happen to the truck on a trip and should it need to go to the dealer for repair, I dont think I would have the opportunity to take the Quad, or anyother module, out in time. I think I would rather have a programer that I could re-program before the tow got there.
