Running w/ Crazy Larry mode mpg's went from 17-18mpg at 70 to 23-25mpg at 70.
I tried it pulling a 30ft camper trailer 10 miles to the dealer ship. I avg. 9.5 - 11.5mpg at 70.
On Crazy Larry mode agianst a steady 5 mph wind the miles per gallon went to 14.5 at 70.
This news will save me about a $100-$150 per trip.
If I switch the mode to performance it drops down to the usual. The outlook monitor that came with triple dog doesnt fit my 06. So i dont have a pyro.
Does anyone have a simulier set up & can tell me est EGT's?
How dangerous would pulling a est 7000lb load in Crazy L. be?

did you calculate that or are you goin by the overhead. The overhead may not be reading right because of the chip/prog. I wouldnt even think of pullin in anything but stock or tow mode. Even with my quad chip on the 60hp settting things got hot before the injectors. I just drove by the EGT gueage. An EGT guage is an absolute must have in my opinion with any chip or prog.

You need to remove the Crazy Larry, particularly if you towing! I ran the Crazy Larry in my 04 for about an hour, no trailer, just cruising up the highway. I could easily bury my Pyro if I left my foot in it for more that a second, that was with a cold air intake and a 5" turbo back exhaust. You have to at least get a Pyro in the truck before you start throwing goodies at it or like the disclaimer you had to read for the CL program said, you will break stuff.

 

My bet is you're looking at the overhead for mileage info. If so, the increase you got is bogus. The mileage calculation does not know about the extra fuel that's being injected because of the crazy larry program, so it thinks you're getting better mileage than you really are. It may very well actually be better than it was stock, but not by as much as the overhead would lead you to believe. Or, maybe you posted hand calculated figures, in which case I'll shaddup...

 

Adding over 200hp worth of fuel w/o gauges is a recipe for melted pistons in a hurry.

 

I have to agree with everyone else, running the Crazy larry is not a good idea on a stock tranny, turbo etc. empty, and espically not towing. My EGT's were extremly high on my turck with a staight pipe, upgraded intake when I tried the Crazy Larry download empty. I tow with mine in performance if it is less than 2,000 lbs. and in TOW if it is over 2,000.

 

Well first off you should not be out of the tow mode without gauges.

Second off in the crazzy larry setting the rail pressuer is probably up to like 26k so you overhead is not even close to accurate.

I mean it is your truck but you are playing with fire in crazy larry mode, towing, witkout gauges. Decisions like this are why I have seen threads of people whining about voided waranties with 3 burnt pistons. bashing dodge, bashing the programer/module manufacturer, when they should have been kicking themselves in the nuts. I can not imagine that the truck would not be 1400 degrees plus towing up a grade in crazy larry.
