Complexity of installing a TST?

I was wondering from those who have installed it how time consuming and complex it was to install one preferably with the gauges? Did you have to cut wires? I would like to have one that you could easily remove for warranty reasons. Thanks.

Installation is pretty easy. The instructions do a good job of explaining things. The only tricky part is the cam sensor connectors, but if you follow the instructions and turn your wheels all the way to the right before beginning, you can reach it from underneath without too much trouble.

Drilling and tapping for the pyro will take the longest - just the nature of the job. Lots of info. has already been posted here about doing this - several different techniques. Do a search for pyrometer installation and pick the method you like the best.

No wires have to be cut. All the connection on the TST wiring harnesses use factory-style connectors... you remove the factory plug, plug it into the TST harness, then plug the corresponding connector from the TST harness back into the factory sensor/injector.

The time it would take to un-install it depends on what you mean by "remove for warranty reasons". If you simply want to take the box out of the picture electronically, so the dealer can troubleshoot a "stock" engine, then it's fairly simple - disconnect the crank, cam, and MAP sensors, replacing the stock connectors, and disconnect the two harnesses from the box itself. That will return the engine to stock performance.

Now, if you mean to remove all traces of there ever being a box installed, so the dealer won't suspect something, then you pretty much have to un-do the entire installation, AND hope they don't pull any parameters from the ECM to indicate additional fueling. You'll also have the issue of the thermocouple probe sitting in the manifold, as well as the TST remote that you'd have to do something with.

It can go either, but it's STRONGLY suggested that it be installed pre-turbo.
