Clunking noise after leveling kit???

Just put a leveling kit and now I get a clunking noise in the front end when I hit bumps. Everything is tight. Any ideas what's up? I'm going to pull the shocks and drive around the block like that to see if that does anything. It's on an '05 3500 SRW Auto truck that is otherwise stock. Hell Bent Stell leveling kit.

I have the same level kit on my 06 & hear no noises from it. Ive seen this issue on an 04, it was the aftermarket shocks making the noise. My 05 would pop if it was in a hard turn into somewhere and go over a curb, like a business entrance or subdivision house driveway, never found what it was.

WEIRD... I had a clunk or how I heard it was a "thong" sound when I would go over a speed bump (STOCK)... Once I installed my Leveling kit - it dissapeared. I think it had something to do with how the spring was oriented in the bucket. Thats all I know as of now. Goodluck.

If your kit didnt come with drop blocks or longer links for the sway bar then check out the stock links too. They might be in a bind or being damaged. Check out "are these bent" in the non drive train section

You might also check your Trac Bar.
After I installed the leveling kit on my 02 it made the same noise. The Trac Bar was bad.
If you do replace the bar I would buy a Moog replacement. They have a bigger joint on the end than the stock one.

I never messed with the track bar during install. One sway bar endlink is bent, but I don't see how this could cause a clunk????

the problem is cause the after market shocks dont have the right bushings and sleves and thats what makes the clunking noise.

I reused the stock shocks, so can't be that. It also clunks over the slightest bump, so it's not the shock bottoming out or anything.

I've installed the Hell Bents on 3 trucks and never had any clunks.. (Not affiliated with Hell Bent in any way) I'm curious what the problem is. What steps did you take to install them? This is what I did:

1. Set brake and jack up truck
2. Disconnect sway bar at end links
3. Remove front tires
4. Unbolted driver's side shock and shock tower, let suspension drop.
5. Compressed driver side shock and slid out spring.
6. Put spacer in, put spring back in, decompressed shock
7. Bolted shock tower up
8. Jacked up axle so I could tighten shock up.
9. Repeat steps 4-8 on passenger side. (passenger side doesn't drop as far a driver side so I used ratchet straps to compress the spring)
10. Put tires back on
11. Lowered truck and reattached sway bar ends.
Done.

I didn't take the swaybar off because I used a spring compressor instead to get the passenger spring in. I tightened the shocks with the truck back on ground though, not with the axle up. Could that be a difference?
