Chrome chip plate?

Had the chrome down the sides of my 2001 and really liked the way it looked and helped protect from rock chips. Was wanting to do the same to my 2006 but noticed that there's that big chrome/plastic piece of trim that runs down the length of the cab down at the bottom. Anyone put the chrome plating on these trucks, or done something else? Pictures?

Not sure what you mean on having the chrome on there but you don't know about it? Anyways in my pics I have the chrome tape on mine. Maybe you were talking about the trim that's usually black almost midway up the doors? If so I don't know where to find them but I had a hot shot truck by today and had those in chrome. Along with some diamond plate in some interesting areas and a Gear Vendors.

Well, not sure I'm explaining it very well. Some people call it a chip plate (to keep rocks from chipping your paint down at the bottom of the doors and across the bottom of the truck). Not sure if that's the rocker panels or what. I looked at your pics and your trim seems to be black (the staff that's 12 or 16 inches up from the bottom of the truck on the door), mine's a chromed plastic. Just looks like it would get in the way of where the chrome strip used to be.

Rocker panel covers are usually lower than the trim. I think that's what your trying to figure out.
