Chrome or black nerf bars
Chrome or black nerf bars
It's time for nerf bars but have to decide between chrome (stainless) or black. My truck is white with the black moldings, mirrors etc, but shiny decals, grill, bug gaurd and wheels. I just can't picture in my head which would look better. Does anybody have oppinions or pictures they can share of there white truck. Thanks.
I have black nerf bars and a black ranch hand grill guard an my truck and it looks sharp. I just got through detailing it yesterday and it looks great. Tomorrow I am going to my deer lease near Balinger to check my deer feeders so it may have been a wasted effort. But I will look good doing it though.(2003,3/4ton ,4x4,quad cab,5.9 cummins, silver metallic)

I like shiney things, so my vote is for chrome, or polished stainless. I had black on my old truck for a while and they looked Ok, but i think stainless would have looked alot better. I'm putting stainless bars on my current truck pretty soon, I think they look sharp. But thats just my $0.02.
i'm saving my money for the ranchhand bullnose FER and rear bumper, the cabela's black diamond plate wheel-to-wheel running bar, and i'm going to swap out the chrome grille with this one (black). the truck is silver (or "driftwood" as chrysler calls it):

Personally, I think the trucks look better with none.
But, they are very nice to have for function. I had some wheel to wheel "Tech Tubes" brand nerf bars on mine for a while. They are made out of stainless steel and wouldn't rust. I took them off and sold them and replaced them with Black Powdercoated Ranch Hand Side Steps. The RH steps are strong as an ox. I can jump up and down (190lbs) on any of the 4 of them and they don't budge. Pics in the gallery.

Another vote for polished stainless, had mine on since april of 04 and only problem I have is keeping them polished up.

This pic is of the wheel but you can see the front of the nerf bar where they usally fail first, but still looking good.

Hey Tex, how do those Ranch Hand steps attach, frame or body? I like there company just don't have anything from them yet.
