Chose fabtech over bds
Chose fabtech over bds
I ordered a 6 in. fabtech lift for my truck. The shop thats doing it recommended fabtech or bds,but they leaned more towards fabtech. You guys think I made the right choice? Heres my whls/tires.
If those are Mazzi Hulks you're gonna have some rubbing. They are all 10" wide with 4.5" backspacing and those Toyo's are some wide rubber. You MAY get away with it if they are 35's, but if they are 37's you're gonna have serious rubbing. Especially since the Fabtech lift is only 4.5". It's only 6" on the 1/2 tons.

local dodge dealer around here stopped using fabtech on their factory lifts due to customer complaints. they now use the superlift 6" bilstein kit with bilstein dual steering stabilizers, and have been complaint free.
However, you will still have rubbing issues with 10" wide wheels and 37x13.50 Toyo M/T's. Those are the widest 13.50" tires I have ever seen. Some of them are nearly 14.5" wide if I remember correctly.
As for the spacer, it's not the best thing to do in my opinion, but in most cases it works just fine. I wouldn't recommend it if you are doing a ton of offroading, but that's just me.
Agreed. I love the look too, but the truck really takes a beating. I ran 325/65/18 Terra Grapplers on 18x9 Moto Metals with 4.5" backspacing and it looked awesome, but the wide tires/wheels really ate the paint on my truck even with flares installed.
