Chip on stock truck.
SW2 MAX!!!
I didn't see your truck info in your signature. (Fill it out.)
Auto or stick will cost the same to prep it for SW3, about $2K.
The driveability is worth the price of Smarty Jr. Totally different truck.
Set her on 2 and put the programmer in the closet. It's that simple.

What does SW2 MAX mean? I dont have 2k to prep it. is this chip something i can just plug and play how it sits now? What would the $2k be used to change to prep for level 3??

You can get a good clutch for about $900 for your NV5600.
BTW the Smarty is not a "Chip" it is a programmer. The chips are add on boxes of some type and the programmers actually reprogram your trucks ECM through the OBDII plug.
I have a 2003 5speed SO(235HP CA version). I use a Smarty SR on SW5. No mods to the drivetrain. Stock clutch is holding fine at 145K miles (20K of the last 45K) towing the 5er on SW5. Daily driving on SW1.
Stock clutch is holding fine but I'm always VERY gentle with the right foot. I'm sure if I drove it aggressively while towing, the clutch would probably start slipping fairly soon.
Not sure what Smarty SR SW5 correlates to on a Smarty JR????
I drive by the EGT when towing and keep it below1150. If it starts to jump up to 1250 on a hill I just increase the RPMs by down shifting and EGTs usually drop down 1-300 degrees.
Has worked for me so far, with GENTLE on the right foot being the operative word.
If/when the clutch goes, I'll upgrade to a Valair or South Bend.
