Would not be the most financially feasable thing.......plus like Tiny asked.....Why?????

We all know the Cummins will make more hp/torque than the truck could ever handle.

On the financial note, go to a cat dealership and price filters. Most of them do not change over to popular brands either like fleetguard or napa.

anything is possible. you could paint your cummins yellow and be none the wiser.

still a C7 in a 1ton pickup would be sweet. ford and GM could use one more than we could, but then we'd have some real competition.

Question

This is what gets me, here's the specs of that motor

190 to 350 @ 2400 rpm
Torque 520-860 lb-ft @ 1440

That motor can have up to 350 HP, ok so can our cummins, but the 520-860lb of torque, how can they have that much torque with just 350hp?? Can we do that with a cummins, or is it just because it has a much longer stroke?

Not saying that I'm like this, but maybe some people aren't as hardcore Cummins as the rest? Maybe they have the money to put into everything, and want to try it? It would deff. be one of a kind!

It's actually quite easy with diesel engines to get more torque. The hard part is getting more top end hp.

The current 5.9L B stationary genset engine makes 200hp and 800 ft-lbs of torque. The engine only revs to 2200 rpm.

I bet that calibration would get some great fuel economy, if you could hold the axles and trans together during a launch with a big trailer in tow. Too bad the OEM's are in a HP war.
