I am in Nevada. The county i am in does not require a smog check.
Is the drone you hear annoying? Or is it just at certain speeds that you hear it. How about when your towing, how is it then?

I have the MBRP duals but still have the cat, I was wondering the same thing b/c I am considering removing it to free things up a little bit but don't want to do it if there is going to be any drone I still do a lot of highway driving.

For me when I had the cat on it was pretty quite. You really couldn't hear that there was an exhaust on the back. Then when I did the cat delete it made it louder. Drone was hardly there at any rpm. But this weekend I installed a new sps6280 super and the drone is alot more noticeable. Seems like even at highway you will hear some xhaust note. but if your like me, I don't mind it at all.

Won't mess anything up but they can void your warranty... if they want to.

don't see that it was mentioned... unless I over looked but, removing the cat will drop your EGT's up to 100F.

As far as my truck... after removing it I noticed no difference at all in sound. I did see the drop in EGT's. I have a MBRP with the muffler in place. Everything else is straight piped.

I was told by my dealer that anything others than a cat-back will void the " emissions warranty " so, if that's a concern for you... be careful

One of the diesel mags had an article about HP gain from removing the cat in certain applications. If I remember right it is usually worth 5-10hp, does this sound about right?

I really dont see where you could gain 5-10 HP, I guess its possible though. I thought maybe more like 3-5hp, 10 is pushing it if you ask me.
