Wink Can't afford Kelderman so. What 5 to 6in lift

Ive done a lift kit search on the boards and have read lots of pros and cons of all the major lifts kit maufactures. The general school of thought steer me away from the Full Throttle kits, people in and outside this board say bad things about them, my tire guy recommends FabTech for my 3500. Id like to be able to run 37X13.5 in Toyo Mud terrains comfortably with offsets
avalible from weld wheels. Also most dodge folks seem to think that lifts for our trucks work best at 5 or 6 in max due to drive line vibration. I dont really have a problem getting a custom front drive line made if that will solve the problem. With my new lift I'd like the retain on road stablity over
articulation off road. My 35" BFG'S are at the end of there useful life at almost 40k miles so it's almost wheel and tire time for me. By the way any body ordering a new truck go with the 4:11 gears, the 3:73's on my truck have made my stock eng setup feel slugish on the freeway ramps and such.
What works well on our trucks,
Turbo Boy

My only opinion on this is avoid the Fabtech, unless you are looking for a looks only lift. I have had a few friends put Fabtech on their vehicles (Chevy, Ford, and Dodge) and they have ALL said that these things can't handle serious off-roading. They have all had something break while in the dirt/sand and in my mind, that kills Fabtech.

Unless they have SERIOUSLY improved their product in the last year, I would say look somewhere else. You get what you pay for in all things, and the cheaper lifts are just that...cheaper.

I kind of like the looks of the Superlift 6in.

I agree you get what you pay for. I'm gonna have to do more research. The fabtech dosent seem as well constructed as superlift or Skyjacker. Also I like the Idea of 6 full in of lift. I plan on having some custom front double shock mounts fabricated. I was on the Dunks perfomance website and a beautiful set of resevoir shocks are in the photo gallery of a Dodge HD with what appears to be a tuff country lift. Frankly I like to buy a kit with no shocks and get some reservoir shocks like Fox, King or Bilstien. The particular shop the recommends fabtech might just favor the installation of fabtech, who knows.

RE:I kind of like the looks of the Superlift 6in.

I have always been a fan of Superlift and Skyjacker. The main reason being is that they use new springs instead of using a spacer in their applications.

I'd like to put a set of the D25 springs in this ride to level it out, but since I do tow more with this one, I'll probably pass.

Good luck in your decision!!
