Can I run 37's

I have a set of 17 x 9 american eagle rims that have -8 mm offset with 4 5/8 BSM according to their website. I was looking into the Lorenz 2.25 Sway away system and was wondering if I could run 37's on these rims as the Lorenz site is saying 6" backspacing with an 8.5" rim. Thanks for the help guys

I am wanting to un 37s on a three inch lift with 17x9s with a 5 inch bs. I think i can if I can get control arms to move the axle far enought forward without it being too far forward. Problem is I dont know what to far forward is. Like the track bar binding up or stuff like that? At full lock Im pretty close to the fender, but thats with stock control arms and 35s.

I'd say 1/2" is about as far forward as you want to go. More than that and the sway bar may hit the coils, steering components start getting close to bind, etc.

Man I love the look of 37s and a little lift. I may have to go back to stock wheels then. I might try some adjustable arms first to see if I can make them work.

XL, what are the secs on your wheels, and did you have to do anything special to make them fit?

~ half inch more backspacing than stock, trim the plastic chin fairing and fender liner, massage the pinch weld at rear of fender.

No body contact - even stuffed, 90% of lock to lock steering due to swaybar/control arm rubbage from MT's side lugs.

When the Toyos showed up at the shop, I was like

I ended up running H2 wheels with the 37s.

Backspacing is key, not the suspension company.

I moved the bottom of the fender back and took off some metal. No one notices it when they see the truck.

So yes. Woo Hoo

The trimming varied depending on the wheel I used. The Stock wheels did not rub the fenders, but rubbed the control arms and sway bar.

So I guess all trucks are a bit different.

I trimmed sheetmetal too - and again, no one notices.

I didn't want the look of a lifted truck, and had plenty of uses for our $$$$$ besides giving it to the Suspension Company...

It also depends on the tires. I only rub the control arms with the BFG's with no fender trimming, but the tires are nowhere near 37" tall, just a bit over 36" . XLR8R, how close are Toyos to true 37".
