Can I Pull
I honestly have no idea im new to bombing and i think i would like to get into doing a little sled pulling at some local pulls. I have no ideas about gear selection, suspension, 4x4 or no 4x4.
I am not a sled pulling expert but I have seen plenty of guys pull with even a single disc. You just cant do that funny business of trying to pull the sled out of the hole with 30PSI boost. I would try it if I were you and not be scared.
Like I said, there are a lot more educated guys here but I think I would try 2nd gear high 4x4. That seems to work real good at the local track but they mostly run 5600's.
JMHO/ I ask a lot of questions but never pulled.

Thank you i will probably go to a few of them and try to talk to some of the guys to see what they have to say about it. I would also love for anyone on here to give me as much input as they would like.
just try not to ride the clutch for a long period of time when taking off and you should be ok. the launch is the hardest part on the clutch. If the sled isnt super dooper hard to take off with, 2nd gear high range is normally the gear of choice.

My brother has won some pulls with that clutch and 2nd high with his 5 spd. It is equal to about 35 mph with stock revs and his gearing before he got springs. Feather the clutch about one tire rotation to build some boost and pop it. You should be good for twenty or thirty hooks unless you ride it too long.
