The Amsoil BMK-21 arrived and I started making a bracket, and taking apart the Amsoil billet oil fill cap

The kit is very well put together, and comes with everything needed....

The bracket and billet oil fill cap were dropped off at a local powdercoating shop, and both turned out great

I needed to do a regular oil change, so it was perfect time to get everything done at one time

Here is the Amsoil blue billet cap, that was taken apart:

I also had my bracket powdercoated in gloss black, to match, and used stainless steel allen head bolts

Also, just to give you a reference on the 8 ports on the stock Amsoil Ea080 oil filter, compared to a 6 port NAPA Gold:

The custom powdercoated Amsoil oil fill cap (see how the blue anodized color Amsoil would have looked out of place?)

Well, the Double Deep trans pan and rear diff cover by Mag Hytec are awesome, and I have not had any problems or issues with them

The front MH diff cover is another story

It hits bad on the Thuren track bar, most likely because of the drop trackbar bracket, and only allow for 2" of up travel before it hits

So, I took my stock fornt diff cover and fill plug in to be powdercoated:

I then added some M8x1.25 stainless steel bolts and stainless steel washers:

The powdercoating was $25 and the stainless hardware was another $30

I know I could have grinding it down, and tried to make it fit, but I knew that the stock diff cover will be more than sufficient and would not cause ANY issues

Installed in fill up the diff with Amsoil 75W-90 Severe Gear Fluid and took the truck out.....no more banging or contact issues!

Here you can see how much deep the MH diff cover is, but it really does not hold that much more fluid, over stock

Well I thought my starter went out today, so I removed it in the parking lot of a grocery store.....

I pulled the inspection plate coverand my jow dropped........

The entire outer ring on the BRAND NEW BD Flexplate was sheered off!

I drove the truck all day doing errands, without any issues

I tried to start it in the parking lot to leave and nothing, just heard the starter spinning

The mounting area of the flexplate is still bolted up and looks fine....just the outer ring with the teeth is just laying there, one solid ring

BD Power - Product: FleX-Plate

1041210 1994-2007 5.9L

Not happy......had to have it towed back to the trans shop

There was only like 2-3,000 miles on the trans, since the flexplate was installed.....

I could maybe understand this happening under WOT, but not with just trying to start the truck with a brand new "heavy duty" expensive BD Flexplate

I ordered a new flexplate from Summit Racing, and had it overnight shipped directly to the trans shop

The truck is back running and doing alot better

According the BD, the flexplate tooth ring is press fit onto the actual plate....and welded

The damaged/broken flexplate that was taken out of my trans HAD NO WELDS.......ANYWHERE!

The new flexplate has a serial number of 001855
The old flexplate has a serial number of 000443

Also, when the flexplate failed, it also chewed up the bendix gears/teeth on my starter......I had to pay a local starter rebuild shop $50 to install a new gear assembly.

At 73,000 miles, the inside of the starter looked brand new.....according to the rebuild shop

I am going to send BD the broken flexplate, my invoice for the labor, invoice for the starter, and the invoice from Summit for the new flexplate.....this should have never happened

$489.20 New BD Flexplate
$450 Labor Fee
$50 Tow Fee
$50 Starter Gear

Does BD have a quality control inspection department??????

Today I changed out the "stock" Aid Dog fuel filter and water seperator that came with the AD 150 kit

The kit was installed April of 2009, so I figured it might be time to change them out....even though I have put less than 5,000 miles on my truck

I installed the following:
Fleetguard FS5613 Fuel Filter
Fleetguard FS19768 Water Seperator

Before the change, the AD pump was getting a tad noisy over the past 2-3 weeks

After the change, the pump is very quiet......so I am glad I decided to change them out

I bought both filters from Dog House Diesel Performance:
http://www.doghousediesel.com/index.html

I think I might just change the fuel filter out twice a year, regardless of the mileage, since they are only like $11

I sent back the "defective" flexplate to them, and it was just delivered on June 14TH

They are going to look it over and see what they are willing to do for me......so it is just a waiting game
