Hi, have a bully dog torque dog 600 which is a nothing more than a Van AAken 3.2 that is relabeled. I got this box because it is to be a "NON" pressure box.
Can anyone tell me how to hook it up? I haven't been able to find any instructions anywhere. I think I can figure it out but don't want to screw something up by hooking it up wrong. I take it the 2 big multi pin plugs, plug in to the CPU? There is a smaller plug and it pluggs in to the Van AAken box. There is a single black wire that has a ring terminal on it so I would take it that it may hook up to the battery, but which terminal? Possitive or negitave? The 3 position switch is still connected, but does it need grounded?? Any Help is appreciated Thanks

 

Is the BDTD 600 for the '03-04 year models? I figured the 600 is for the '04.5 and up models.

The VA plugs into the ECM and intercepts the signals. The plugs are tight fitting for a good weather seal. The single black wire is the ground so connect to the negative battery terminal. No grounding needed for the switch.

Thanks MikeyB. I was able to come across a set of instructions. The box is deffinatly for the 03 model and was purchased by the original owner in 05 and it worked fine on his truck until he decided to sell the truck and removed about a month ago. I see you have one listed in your signature, how do you like it? I just want to make mine a little more responsive on the bottom end.
Probably will only ever run it on the middle setting. Also how do you like your raptor pump?

 

When you install it be sure to disconnect both batteries first. Otherwise you will get a CEL from the ECM plugs being unplugged. It's a nice box but has a reputation for high EGTs. I do not have any problems with that though.....

 

I like the VA, and the Smarty gives the engine the much needed timing to help control the EGTs. I run the Smarty on the lowest level (around 40hp) for daily driving and towing. Only use the VA when needed.
