I bought a used 42573 bully dog diesel downloader & it downloaded my stock computer setting but would never finish loading the performance setting into my computer, NOW MY TRUCK WILL NOT START. Any one have any suggestions, what will the dealer charge to reprogram my computer??
The bully dog, started out step 1 configuring the power pup, 2nd it said setting stock tune, 3rd it said downloading stock tune, 4th, it said configuring vehicle don't disconect, but after 2 hours I did, and that's where it stopped. I'm with out my truck until I can get something figured out. Help [/SIZE]

 

I see this is your first post; hello and sorry about your luck...

I don't have your awnser, but go to 3rd gen performance and use the search function in the top right. A few people have had this problem. good luck.

 

unplug it and then try to reload the program and if that does not work you will have to call bullydog monday mornig so they can rewrite your vin into the ecm.

 

Thanks for the quick response, I should have know something was wrong with the bully dog when the main menu diden't come up when I pluged it in, but stupid me, thought it was just automatically doing its thing. I think I will try Bully Dog monday & if thay can't help Ill try & get my money back on the downloader.

happend to me once as well i had to call bully dog then they walked me through reprograming my vin back in to it

 

I had a triple dog before and it would not finish loading unless the battery voltage was perfect. I had a cell phone charger plugged in and not even hooked to my phone and it wouldn't work. Called Bullydog and they said that it is very finicky about voltage and I unplugged the charger kept the door closed and it downloaded. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Thanks for all the responses, I called Bully dog this morning & they said the programming I was trying to install on my 06 truck was for an 08 truck, they had me clear that program, returned my stock setting to the unit using the serial # of the truck, & then I hooked it up to the truck & install the stock settings & then installed the tow program so now everything seems ok, I haven't driven the truck but just around the block, so I am not able to do any comparing.
