Bottom line on Modded CP3
John can take the pump off, modify it and re-install.
It does not happen "right now" though. It takes some time to get everything lined out. Most trucks end up being there days, not hours.
John has the modded pumps figured out better than anyone now.

So what happens to a West Virginia boy? Take it off and send it?
Changing a CP3 is alot easier then a P-7100. It will take less then 1 hour to do the swap
After you have done it before it will only take 1/2 hour.
You will need the tool to pull the gear and also holds it in place when the pump is out.

Do you like what it has done for your truck?
Ill check back late.
Changing pumps is pretty simple. Although it does take a little muscle to pull the pump and push it back in.
Very straight forward. Very doable even for the novice with the proper equipment.

I bought a spare CP3 from a wrecked truck and then had it checked out for flow specs, any internal damage, and then modded. It was a good thing I did this because my modded pump went TU. So I was able to slap my stock CP3 back in and continue driving my truck while the vendors took care of the modded pump. Keep in mind this was when the modded CP3 first came to market so it should be safe to say that all the bugs have been worked out.
The part that usually goes TU in the CP3 is the FCA. Modded or stock FCA have tight tolerances so any little contamination or burrs will throw off the operation of the machined plunger in the FCA that controls the fuel rail pressure, especially off-idle, since the plunger can "hang up" and delay fuel rail pressure buildup. When this happens, we get erratic idle and late injection timing = white smoke.
The rest of the CP3 is a fairly robust unit. However, if any machine work is done to it, then cleanliness is godliness.

Hey Dan, do they make a locker for the 11.5" rear yet
Sorry, I couldn't help it. This is the first time I've seen YOU ask a question.
As far as your question goes. Do you mind lag? Cause to get to 650 I'd think there would be lots of it(with a single). Of course the new pump and injectors can make up for it I guess. Good luck.
