Boost #'s with AFE

I installed my AFE Stage II w/PG7 this weekend and noticed that my boost #'s seem a little lower than with the stock airbox. I've double checked all the fittings and everything is tight. Stock airbox with the Xzilla in 60 HP I would see 42-45, now with the AFE I hit 40 max. Just curious if this is normal.

I have had Quad XZillaraider Race, standard Juice/Attitude and currently have HOT Juice/Attitude. The XZillaraider Race box worked great without issues or problems. The Juice boxes have also worked great. I believe that the Juice is more responsive on the low end. I wanted the HOT juice and the Attitude options is one reason I chose to stay with the HOT Juice.
Both boxes on the 100hp setting produced about the same HP on the dyno. The Juice seemed to climb into the peak hp and torque earlier. That is IMO.
XZillaraider Race on 100hp and 130hp would produce 44psi boost. The Juice on 100hp will produce about 41psi. My truck stock would spike to 32-33psi and sustain 28-30psi on WOT.
I switched from standard AFE filter to Pro-Guard 7. I could definitely tell there was less air. The Pro-Guard 7 is very restrictive, that is why it has such a good filtering rep. You might to try a standard filter, it has an additional filtering surface that helps it provide more air. I have each so I can switch for track and make it easier to clean and dry.

Thanks Ram, great info. I've had a few problems with my Xzilla that I don't think are the boxes fault, I think my truck just doesn't like the extra fuel pressure so I want to try a box with no pressure. I get fuel delivery and rail pressure codes w/ a CEL. Myself, Quad, and the dealer have tried and tested everything but nothing seems to work in my case(and as a disclaimer; my truck is the only one with this combination of problems that we know of!) Maybe I'll try the standard filter like you suggested and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the responses...
