Thumbs down Boost Problem Guys and Gals

Alright so maybe you guys can tell me what is going on with my truck, so for a heads up i'm using a banks six gun and i hate it, i think i'm going to tst powermax, but anyway i put a boost elbow on 2 days ago because it would never spool above 25 psi (ever) so i fired it up and it gave me 27 psi and never went back to it again i can't get it over 25 psi, it is a stock turbo so figured its good to at least 36-40 psi, if somone has an idea or suggestion other then ditch the banks i already know that and i'm trying. Thanks alot, DENVERDODGE

You may be hitting the roof as far as fueling goes, you may need to upgrade your fuel system since fuel makes boost. You may also have a boost leak somewhere. My 03 will hit 28 lbs. with my SMARTY on #7 with a stock turbo with factory boost elbow.

Start simple, check the clamps on the boots, then dump the Banks.

i used to have the banks on my truck and it would hit 37 with just the six gun it sounds like you might have a boost leak some where

Where are you reading this boost at?

You got analog gauges or the PDA?

25-32#'s are normal for stock to mild tuners like the one you got...

Check for boost leaks and know that the Banks isn't a heavy fueler. I couldn't get much boost out of it either. The Smarty however got me 35psi max on the stocker. You do not want to exceed 35psi, I would aim for 30psi and be happy.

I'm using the pda as gauges, and i'v heard you could easily get a stock turbo into the high 30's low 40's safely, not true though?

Yo DENVERDODGE!

You now what response is coming next?...

Get a freakin' Smarty PoD...

With your FASS and tranny, and the infinite adjustability...you will need many more mods before you outgrow it

The PDA is reading the MAP for pressure reference... if there is any sort of fooling or remapping involved with the Banks your boost# probably aren't accurate. The stock turbo is blowing really hot after 30-32 psi. 04.5 and newer trucks are in the high 30s safely.

You guys didn't say it...I said it

I'm pretty sure they don't compare...

You can stack the two...but one vs. the other...don't think their is a comparison...
