Boost/fuel control
Boost/fuel control
I just bought a 2005 3500, 4x4, 6 speed SLT, standard cab. Under the hood was a little box with power and ground wires going to the battery, a harness that went to the injectors(they just T'ed in) and 2 little wires twisted into the cab to an adjustable switch(like a volume ****). The only thing I could find it doing was making it smoke a lot when it was turned up. The place I got the truck from had no info on the box. Any help figuring this thing out will help..
I dont have any pictures of it but it looks almost just like the BD Ram power module except without the 5 position switch, it just has volume like ****. The only writing left on it says 2004.5. I had Schied Diesel look at it and they wasnt to sure what it was.
I wish i could, I have a ton of questions. I picked it up at a used truck lot in Kentucky and they claimed they picked it up at auction. That box was on it but didnt have the boost fooler hooked up, there is a pyro gauge in the a-pillar but no thermocoupler, the lights for the bed was all run with the trailer harness, and every time the blower motor is running on low, some sort of fog keeps coming from the vent just to the right of the steering wheel.
Love the truck, but would like to slap the **** out of someone for the way they did this thing.
I do have some photos of the board inside the box. Ill try to get them loaded here after coffee..

From all indications it's an old BD Performance X-Power module. It's a duration only box.

Thanks for the info. I havnt pulled with it yet but if you turn it up, itll black-out the sun. Almost had a motorcycle kiss the rear bumper while bringing the truck back from Kentucky.
Thats what im in the process of doin. I think it may have had more on it at one time, theres a pyro gauge in the a pillar but no thermocoupler in the manifold, or even a hole for one. They did leave an exhaust tip on it that looks aboult like a chrome 5 gallon bucket, to bad its way up under the bed and cant be seen
Sounds like a young fella or someone who takes their redneckery serious had it. Those tips are silly. Good luck with it and keep us posted. All said and done you still have a good solid truck.
Yeah, looking soon to get rid of that exhaust and go with stacks. Looking at being in and out of fields a lot and was raised out west, to many fires started by trucks with belly exhausts.
