Boost fooling?

Ok check my sig.....No not all of the boxes and downloaders are stacked.

Let a friend borrow Scary Larry...so I had a regular Crazy Larry program. I later changed the version to an earlier version for lag issues (long story and i'm still experimenting). While updating to the older verison of crazy larry, my buddy unplugged my MAP sensor installing a boost fooler...since he borrowed my XZT to see how it works for him. Ok....ran fine all the way to 55psi...

Swapped back to Scary Larry....and now i don't have boost fooling even while running a boost fooler. after 32psi it cuts out and defuels like crazy. Ok, pulled the boost fooler and put my TST on to use its boost fooling ability. Same thing....after 32psi its defueling. I am not throwing any codes at all....i have checked numerous times.

What in the world is happening?

I'm gonna pull scary larry and see how it drives with just the TST...then see how it goes. This is weird. If its defueling at 32psi, why wouldn't it throw over boost codes? i have gotten them before, but not now? It never defueled this much before either...

Ok sunday night we lowered the fuel pump psi down from 42psi...i thought maybe it was running out of fuel.....so I upped it back up just a minute ago.

TST to 7/5......boosted up til about 35 then lost all power. No codes. Its like theres a blow off valve releasing or something at a certain psi. When i loose power, it comes back in small surges but not full power. I can let off at that point and then get back in the throttle and its fine til ~35psi again.

HELP

i'm thinking theres some boot or something somewhere letting go under pressure. can anyone support this theory?

Notta. its not gonna smoke. You can borrow my Bullydog sometime and you can see all the smoke you want....or if you want to play with TST, you are welcome to.

That is a weird one, allmost like the map sensor is faulty or something,,,,, try spraying some dielectric on it and then re plug everything in and see what happens

Map sensor has dielectric grease on it right now.

It must be a leak somewhere....that only releases at a certain amount of psi.

Did you look at the boots yet? Also when you say it defuels, it only hits 32 then a smoke show or it cleans up and only hits 32? If its a smoke show it's not defueling of course but if it only hits 32 then no smoke, you've got a fuel problem.

So you hit 55 psi then changed programs and can only get to 35 or so? Check the simple stuff like your clamps etc.

started looking at boots...gonna start again at 9:30am.

not real sure about smoke....i watch the boost gauge when it loses power and just see a drastic drop in boost...sometimes enough to bark the turbo, other times not. If i roll into the throttle really, really easy i can go up to 40psi no problem. Mash it a little harder and get boosted ramped up faster, it loses power around 30-35psi.

If it was defueling, it wouldn't let me run up to 40+psi when i slowly accelerate.

first on agenda tommorrow is totally un-loading bullydog program and then focus on the TST. That will rule out program related issues.

Sounds like a software problem. If it was a boost leak your best shot at a higher psi would be a quick rev, slowly bringing it up would just hold it. Just go with your original thought, unload everything, make sure everything is connected, then reload. You might have just gave it a hiccup or something. BTW, I'm goin to try makin it tonight so Johnny can finally get his steering stabilizer.

I'm in agreeance with brandon that it's software, not a mechanical problem. Have you tried unplugging the batteries for a while and seeing if that resets the ECM?
